Chocolate & Roses

Actress Elizabeth Hurley

THE RIGHT COMBO
Some things are a natural combo, like chocolates and roses. Timeless in their complementary suitability. That goes for jewelry too.

WHAT'S IN A NAME?
Legion are the devotees of chocolate diamonds . . .  those delectably named brown diamonds that are fawned over today by fashionistas everywhere. This wasn't always so, if you can imagine. There was a time in the not that distant past, when it was tough to unload brownies as they are irreverently named. This probably had something to do with their association as a lower order diamond. Some may even have erroneously categorized these as industrial diamonds . . .  but not so fast.

It only took some clever marketing to promote these naturally occurring light to deep browned toned diamonds for the charmers they are. Out came names like champagne, chocolate, and cognac to help the public re-think their impression of these lovelies. Now we adore them in the same way we like their cleverly thought up monikers.

LOVELIER THE SECOND TIME AROUND
And roses? Well, rose gold, or pink, or red or whatever other pretty handle someone will think up is the name for the blushing gold that is wildly trending now. It's been around before and was popular in the 1920's, even making it the stylish metal of choice for men's tank watches for a while. Rose gold has copper alloyed in the metal to lend that healthful glow.

THAT WAS THEN, THIS IS NOW
Now imaginative designers like LeVian are pairing rose gold to Chocolate diamonds with luscious results. The rose gold is a perfect foil for the warm toned brown diamonds which seem to take on another dimension of luster with this clever framing. Look for this warm and romantic combo to gain traction with collectors of uber-feminine and oh so stylish jewels. Nom. Nom. Nom.
